Hi, I used Similiar enviro. - os & HW: Mac OSX, winxp+sp2, and external WD mybook 500GB fat32.
the EXT WD HD was disconnected from MAC and attached to WINXP. after some files were copied it was disconnected properly and recon. to MAC. BUT there the problem arised: it's now UNaccepted by both systems. note: only the original MAC files are needed. pls help in advise.

1. Who said I was trying to promote Linux? :) Also, I personally don't have any problem using fdisk and don't think there is anything wrong with it.
2. I did say I used the Disk Utility, which is a nice GUI front-end, only it works in OS X. If OS X == FreeBSD and FreeBSD == Unix/Linux, isn't that really the promotion of nice GUI tools in Unix?

Regarding NTFS support in OS X, I assume it's on purpose, just as windows can't format large partitions. Marketing reasons. This way I'd keep using a disk formatted in NTFS - which is presumably not what Apple wants.

fdisk - way to promote Linux, buddy! Sure, don't tell anyone about the nice GUI frontends, let people assume the only way to do something in linux is the oldschool CLI.

A pity OX S can't write NTFS. Why won't apple port the linux driver? Afraid of Microsoft?
